League Story

Women's Sports are growing in popularity, not just watching sports but playing them as well! Our league started in the fall of 2023 to provide women of all ages and skill levels an opportunity to continue playing basketball in a friendly, organized, and competitive setting. Starting in 2025, our league has grown to include not only two locations, Nashville and Hendersonville, but also two levels: D1 and D2. This allows everyone to play at the level they are comfortable with, whether you're a couch potato looking for some recreational fun or a seasoned athlete joining to compete at a higher level. We look forward to seeing you on the court!

The Hendersonville Wildcats Women’s Basketball League exists to inspire women of all ages and skill levels to return to the basketball court, fostering a love for the game in a fun, competitive, and supportive environment. We are committed to ensuring every player enjoys their experience, challenges themselves, and builds community while growing the sport we love.

About Mia Thysell

Mia grew up in Sweden and started playing basketball at the age of 10. Her coaching career began when she was 15 years old, and since then, she has played at an elite level in Europe and coached all ages, including men's and women's teams. Her passion for basketball has been a constant throughout her life, and when she moved to Hendersonville, TN, in 2017, she immediately started the Hendersonville Wildcats Basketball Academy for girls. In 2023, she extended the academy to include women and started the Hendersonville Wildcats Women's Basketball League. She's passionate about the basketball community and wants every female to have an opportunity to play, connect with peers, have fun, and continue challenging themself. You can find her on the court, playing the game she loves on the Cheeky Pete's Hoopers team!
